Venture capitalist Bill Gurley has a great post on the Google Maps Navigation business model which he terms “Less Than Free”. Personally, I think “Better than Free” has a more favorable tone, but that is besides the point. Looking through the lens of disruptive innovation (see The Innovator’s Dilemma), Bill explains how Google is taking on the giants of navigation through the Android platform.

It seems like every other day I hear about a new Android power device. There is also some indications that Android app development is heating up. Still, its going to take more for me to switch from the iPhone. Mainly because I really enjoy the app store and iTunes.
